Albacete is a Spanish province situated in the southeast of the Central Plateau, in the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha. In the north it borders with Cuenca, in the east with Valencia and Alicante, in the south with Murcia and Granada, and in the east with Ciudad Real and Jaén.

 

Due to the strategic position of the province of Albacete, a crossroad between the centre of the peninsula and south east Spain, between Murcia andCastilla- La Mancha, it has excellent communications:

By Road

A-30: the Dual Carriageway of Murcia. It runs between Albacete and Cartagena. It passes by Albacete, Tobarra and Hellín.

The A-31: Autovía de Alicante. It runs between Atalaya del Cañavate and Alicante. It passes by La Roda, Albacete and Almansa.

A-35: Almansa-Játiva Dual carriageway. This runs between both these cities.

The AP-36: Ocaña-La Roda Dual Carriageway. This runs between the two cities.

The A-43: passes by Villarrobledo.

By Train

The province has had railway communications since this means of transport began to function in Spain. The line Madrid-Alicante was the first long distance line to come into service in the country.

also running through the province is the line to Murcia, Cartagena and Valencia, it is planned that the AVE High Speed Train will arrive soon.

There are stations with stops in the city of Albacete, Almansa, Hellín, Villarrobledo and also in Caudete, La Gineta, La Roda and Minaya.

By Air

The province has the airport of Albacete-Los Llanos, situated 4 Km. south of the city of Albacete.

The airport  has the possibility of charter flights.
